With a Master’s degree in English and more than 20 years of experience in education, Catherine has spent her career helping students grow in confidence and skill as readers and writers. After years of teaching at the college lev
Catherine Rayburn-Trobaugh is the founder of Word Branch Education and creator of the Roots of Reading system. With a Master’s degree in English and more than 20 years of experience in education, Catherine has spent her career helping students grow in confidence and skill as readers and writers. After years of teaching at the college level, she transitioned into high-impact literacy intervention, where she saw firsthand the transformative power of strong foundational reading instruction. Combining research-backed literacy practices with practical, engaging teaching methods, she developed Roots of Reading to give parents, tutors, and educators a clear path to helping children become successful, confident readers.
